From business TRiUMPh to political TRAMP?

My thoughts based on Imagine (by John Lennon)

Imagine there’s no heaven, It’s easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky: “Heaven” How long do you think the USA will remain a heaven – or promised land- for those is search of new opportunities to re-construct their life, should you become president?

Imagine all the people, Living for today a-hah: Can the people of the USA still expect a decent “present” when all social welfare efforts and democratic principles could be reduced to nothing should you become president?

Imagine there’s no countries, It isn’t hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion too: “Imagine there’s no countries” refers to a world where harmony is among the key priorities of all other democratic societies and where power is the result of inclusive policies rather than self-centered regimes and demagogy. Should you become president of the USA, what would be your message of inclusion, if any, and have you ever thought of the major domestic crisis you might start due to you apparent ignorance of religions and interreligious dialogue? Do you have any true willingness to maintain a dialogue at national and international level or are you convinced your own inner voice is the only truth to listen to and religion to obey?

Imagine all the people, Living life in peace – you-hou-hou-ou-ou: How do you expect the world to look at you and the USA , should you become the new president, regarding world peace and order? Have you ever thought you might be assimilated to other dictators, dead or alive, and face international economic embargo, a potential military coalition and even a public trial at the International tribunal of The Hague on the charges of incitement to hatred and violence leading to world disorder and destabilization?

You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one, I hope someday you’ll join us, And the world will be as one: Consciousness is the capacity to think ahead, act graciously to the best interest of the community at large and contribute to peace and harmony by being an example: should you become president, are you truly strong enough to put your personal interests and strengths second and service the Nation first?

Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man: While I can subscribe to successful achievement and materialistic wealth, I would like to know what your policy is to helping the “poor” make ends meet, promoting equal chances to education and work, should you become president of the USA. Greed and hunger generate violence: how does that help a nation to become great?

Imagine all the people, Sharing all the world – you-hou-hou-ou: A great coach is a person who makes athletes perform and achieve what they initially thought was not achievable. Success is a mutual gift and never a personal attribute. The power of the American people comes from their ability to rally, work, endure, share and celebrate successes together. Should you become president, what is your engagement to share the world, culturally, socially, economically, environmentally?

You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one, I hope someday you’ll join us, And the world will live as one: Yes, you may say I am a dreamer, but not the one you think of. And there are many more like me that dream of a world which is good to live in, who are committed to denounce power abuse, ethnic and philosophical as well as gender discrimination.

Understand and Interact

The international scene is a kaleidoscope of culturally different practices which all have their own specific historical, social, religious, geographical, and even behavioral norms and values.

CulturekeY is aiming at providing you keys to better interact with culturally diverse business partners in order to reach satisfactory business relationships. Ultimately, Trust is what matters.

CulturekeY invites you to the following journey:

Let it be:

Be yourself: how you think, what you do and say is determined by who you are and there are plenty of reasons to support you are right. Express and explain them in order for others to better understand you.
Understand other people’s values and frameworks as they are the foundations of their mindset and how they see and interact with the world. We’ll guide you to become more aware of it.

We are all free to decide whether things should be “our way or the highway” but let’s reflect and decide on what added value bridging cultural differences would create for us and the others. How we adjust bearing in mind our differences will make a huge difference.

With a little help from my friends:

Assume and be congruent but know how to compromise and partner when common interest is at stake. Developing cross border relationships, doing global business is a matter of trust and reciprocity. Bonding may have different rules and codes but in the end it is about trusting one another.

The CulturekeY Methodology: 4A

A like Awareness:

informing, perceiving, sensing, tasting, feeling the differences that we are confronted to. The aim is to just know that those differences exist and will always be there to highlight “otherness”

A like Acceptance:

learning to understand the meaning behind what we perceive as different enables us to accept that these are established facts and habits and which we don’t necessarily have to agree with.

A like Adaptation:

Living in and working with culturally different environments may require we develop new strategies to interact appropriately in order to reach agreements or achieve our goals or simply create new living harmony. At this stage it is important we reinforce existing skills and competencies as well as develop new ones. This is how we demonstrate our cross-cultural flexibility: consciously and respectfully.

A like Adoption:

Only if we decide, and because events and experience have proven truly beneficial to us, may we consider expanding our values framework by taking into it new references that were previously not ours.
